Jesus Heals On The Sabbath

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Hebrew called Beth-za′tha, which has five porticoes. In these lay a multitude of invalids, blind, lame, paralyzed. One man was there, who had been ill for thirty-eight (38) years. When Jesus saw him and knew that he had been lying there a long time, Jesus said to him, “Do you want to be healed?”

The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is troubled, and while I am going another patient steps down before me.”

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your pallet, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his pallet and walked.

Now that day was the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, it is not lawful for you to carry your pallet.”

But he answered them, “The man who healed me said to me, ‘Take up your pallet, and walk.’”

They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your pallet, and walk’?”

Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place. Afterward, Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse befall you.”

The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews persecuted Jesus, because He did this on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working still, and I am working.” This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath but also called God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:2-18

Jesus Heals Many On The Sabbath Day
It was the Sabbath Day, and Jesus stood among the surging masses of the people in the temple courts and sacred halls. The blind, the deaf, the dumb, and those obsessed were there, and Jesus spoke the Word, and they were healed. On some He laid His hands, and they were healed; to others He just spoke the Word, and they were full restored to health; but others had to go and wash in certain pools; and others He anointed with a holy oil.

A doctor asked Him why He healed in diverse ways, and He replied, “Disease is discord in the human form, and discords are produced in many ways. The body is a harpsichord; sometimes the strings are too relaxed, and then inharmony results. Sometimes we find the strings too tense, and then another form of discord is induced. Disease is many-formed, and there are many ways to cure, to tune anew the mystic harpsichord.”

Now when the Pharisees were told that Jesus healed the people on the Sabbath Day they were enraged, and they commanded Him to quit the place. But Jesus said,

“Was man designed to fit the Sabbath, or was the Sabbath Day designed to fit the man?
If you had fallen in a pit and, lo, the Sabbath Day had come, and I should pass your way, would you cry out?
Let me alone!

It is a sin to help me on the Sabbath Day.

I will swelter in this filth until another day?
You Pharisees, you hypocrites!

You know you would be glad to have my help upon the Sabbath Day, or any other day. These people all have fallen into pits, and they are calling loud for me to help them out, and man and God would curse me should I pass along and heed them not.” And then the Pharisees returned to say their prayers, and curse the man of God because He heeded not their words.

Explanations

Portico means an entrance, passage or doorway with roof over it.

Pallet means a mat.

Beth-za′tha. People usually called this pool Bethsaida.

And this was why the Jews persecuted Jesus, because He did this on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working still, and I am working.”

Actually, the Sabbath is a day of rest, prayers and worship. It is not meant to be day for healing and deliverance. On the other hands, at the time of Jesus, problems were so many in the midst of Israelites and there was nobody who was providing solutions. And it is wrong to allow the children of God to be suffering all kinds of bondage, sickness and afflictions on the Sabbath Day, when solutions are available. Suffering sickness, bondage or demonic possessions on the Sabbath Day breaks the Sabbath, because the Sabbath is God’s kingdom here on earth. And there are no evils, sickness, bondage or demonic possessions in heaven. Therefore, the best thing to do was to cast out the demons and heal the sick, on the Sabbath Day, because doing so is restoring God’s kingdom of heaven here on earth.

In the present and modern generation, God has scheduled ministration on the Fourthday, which people wrongly call Wednesday Prayers. Also, God has scheduled midnight prayers and ministration on the Seventhday night, which people wrongly call Saturday night. Therefore, all those who have need for healing, deliverance or spiritual works should attend on the days appointed for such ministrations.

Yet, during the Sabbath Day, let no person question what the Hosts of Angels and Saints of heaven are doing, because the Armageddon Battle is raging on, though humanity do not know the severity of the battle.

You may ask, why should the children of God attend midnight prayers, after the Sabbath? According to the Hosts of Angels and Saints of heaven, the reason is that when children of God stay in the presence from God during the Sabbath Day, the powers of the Holy Spirit, which radiate from Yahweh into the bodies of the congregation are enormous. Many people do not know this fact. If you allow people to stay at home, they misuse and abuse the powers in earthly engagements, in useless conversations and activities, without producing much benefits from the powers of the Holy Spirit. But, when they continue in the house of God, by attending midnight prayers, the enormous powers are used for various benefits, like anointing, healing, deliverance, spiritual works, spiritual warfare, teaching and learning.

This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath but also called God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

The Israelite could not understand that God is their Father, because they failed to study Spiritual Science. That was why they were calling the angel leading them in the wilderness, “Pillar of fire and pillar of cloud.” That angel was Archangel Raphael. But the Israelites could not see him clearly, because the Israelites were not yet spiritually developed. Their spiritual levels, and the levels of their spiritual vibration, was very low, very dull.

God is your Father. That is why the holy book said that man was created in the image and likeness of God. The image and likeness simply means that you are the very nature and shape of God Almighty. The saints are the children of the living God. Whether Jesus said He is God or that God is His father, He is correct.

Jesus Heals A Man With Withered Hand On The Sabbath

And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward." Then He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they kept silent. And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him. Mark 3:1-6

Healing On Sabbath Day

Then He said to them, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath." Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand."

And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. Matthew 12:11-14

Explanations:

Is good to heal on the Sabbath Day, for the wellbeing of humanity supersedes the laws of nature.

However, the Sabbath Day is meant for rest, prayers and worship, because humanity have six days to do the works of deliverance, healing and prosperity.

The problem in the world today is that humanity are very much interested in getting the blessings from God, without keeping the Everlasting Covenant, the original Ten Commandments and the seven annual festivals of God.
